10 things to expect at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open – Irish Golfer Magazine

The countdown continues to the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Carton House which gets underway in five week’s time, and here are 10 things spectators can expect at one of the showpiece events on the Ladies European Tour.

1. World-class golf – LPGA Tour winner and Olympian, Leona Maguire who recently
became the first Irish winner on the Ladies European Tour will tee it up alongside
her Solheim Cup teammate and major winner Georgia hall. 5 time LET winner, Anne
Van Dam will also be competing for the title after a runner-up finish at last year’s
event. Upcoming Irish golf star, Lauren Walsh will also be competing for the title.

2. Spectator village – The spectator village will be packed with food vendors (Offbeat
donuts, Griolladh and Nespresso), drinks, our charity partner NBCRI, shops and
many more.

3. Free parking – There will be free parking on site for all spectators

4. Free entry for U16s – All children under the age of 16 will enter the event for free

5. Championship Golf Course – The KPMG Women’s Irish Open will be played on the
O’Meara Course which was designed by 1998 Open Champion and US Masters
Champion, Mark O’Meara.

6. Live music – There will be live music played in the spectator village daily

7. Pro-Am – There will be a Pro-Am on Wednesday, 28 August which will include
celebrity appearances and it is free to attend.

8. Family-fun activities – The spectator village will include activities for all of the
family such as face-painting, sweet treats, picnic tables and a kids zone.

9. Long putt and other activities – There will be interactive activities in the spectator
village such as a long putt, trackman simulators, golf chipping challenges and VR
golf with the chance to win prizes all week.

10.Return scheme – We care about the environment and our goal is to make the event
as sustainable as possible so we will have a bottle return scheme at the event to
return your used bottles.
