A total of 19 people were arrested by Gardaí at an anti-immigration protest in Dublin today.
In a statement, Gardaí said they had a “comprehensive policing operation in place” ahead of the protest.
Late in the afternoon, a sit down began on O’Connell Bridge and Green Line Luas services were unable to run between Dominick and Stephen’s Green.
There was also major traffic disruption.
Gardaí said they “engaged with protestors” and asked them to disperse from the bridge; when they did not, two Garda Public Order Units were deployed and 19 arrests were made.
No one was injured and traffic is now moving as normal.
