Logistics company Primeline Group has announced 400 jobs across a range of disciplines, with the opening of a €50 million distribution hub in Ashbourne, Co Meath.
The company said the new 360,000sq/ft development is the largest Irish-owned net zero energy building compliant distribution centre.
The hub will add to Primeline’s footprint which currently spans over 1,000,000sq/ft across ten industrial units in Ireland and the UK.
Primeline already employs 1,100 people and the new jobs will be in IT, operations and sales.
The company makes over 25,000 deliveries to more than 7,500 outlets around Ireland each week.
“The development of this hub along with our investment in new technologies, is a product of careful planning and strategy and is also a symbol of the vision we have for Primeline Group,” Tim Cummins, CEO of Primeline Group said.
Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Peter Burke welcomed news of the development.
“The story of Primeline Group is one of ambition and entrepreneurship, and the group has built a truly impressive presence across Ireland and the UK,” Mr Burke said.
“Bringing this new addition online will no doubt be a major asset to its growth in Ashbourne and the wider region,” he added.
Enterprise Ireland CEO Leo Clancy described Primeline Group’s growth as an excellent example of the potential for Irish business.
“This company’s success is rooted in their ability to deliver on a first-class customer experience while also keeping an eye to the future of where the growth opportunities lie,” Mr Clancy said.
