A further 11 of the 99 people highlighted by gardaí as “persons of interest” in relation to the Dublin riots last year have been identified following a public appeal over the last 24 hours, bringing to 67 the number of people identified since the appeal was made.

Gardaí have continued to receive “a very significant ongoing public response” following the appeal, which was first made on Tuesday.

Gardaí said the purpose of the appeal is to identify the “persons of interest” to either rule each individual “in or out” of the investigation.

An Garda Síochána added that they are continuing to seek assistance to identify the 32 people whose images remain on www.garda.ie.

More than 60 shops and businesses were attacked and looted, buses and garda cars burned out, transport disrupted and 13 gardaí were injured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigation team at Store Street Garda Station on 01-6668000 or by email at store.street.public@garda.ie.

Information can also be provided via the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
