Drive-In Movie

Location: Leopardstown Racecourse

Settle in for a spooky movie at the retro drive-in at Leopardstown Racecourse. This weekend will see screenings of family-friendly classics Hocus Pocus, Goonies, and Monsters Inc. Later screenings will have screenings for teens and adults with horror movies Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream as well as cult-classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. A 5-seater car will cost €33.90 + booking fee, while a 7-seater costs €34.50 + booking fee.

A festival to celebrate the birth of Oscar Wilde (October 16) will return for its second year, with events taking place at Wilde’s childhood home and other locations around the city. There will be a heap of events including a free walking tour of the city centre, viewings of extraordinary artefacts at Trinity College’s Long Room, and a family-friendly reading of Oscar’s fairytales by Emily Collins in the very nursery he grew up in.

Maths Week, Ireland’s largest celebration of maths, aims to change perceptions of maths by making it fun, accessible, and relevant to everyday life. This year’s events include ‘Maths in the City’ in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Dundalk, and Belfast, where the public can engage with maths through puzzles, games, and magic. ‘Maths Week TV’ will also stream daily shows and interactive sessions for schools, ensuring participation across the island.

Spooky Sober Sip & Paint

Hosted by Babes Without Beers, this spooky event will pair guests up with a painting partner. You will then create some ghoulish art in a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere while enjoying some non-alcoholic beverages. You’ll then swap canvases throughout the meet-up, working together to bring your masterpieces to life. Tickets cost €22.42.

Forest Bathing Experience: Samhain Celebration

Location: Fernhill Park & Gardens

This two and a half hour experience invites ticket holders to immerse their senses in nature and breathe in the fresh forest air, grounding yourself with some meditation and mindfully tasting some chocolate and herbal tea. A guide will be on hand to help you relax in the forest and awaken your senses. Tickets cost €35.

Open House Dublin

Now in its 19th year, Open House Dublin is a free festival that celebrates Dublin’s architectural marvels and questions where the cityscape is going next. The 2024 programme is a mix of guided tours and events that need to be pre-booked on the website.
