Irish Ferries owner Irish Continental Group has reported revenues of €177m for the first four months of this year – an increase of 8.3% compared with the same time last year.
In a trading update for the four months to the end of April, ICG said that total revenues at Irish Ferries rose by 12% to €119.7m from €106.9m the same time last year.
For the year to May 4, Irish Ferries said it carried a total of 153,200 cars, an increase of 21.2% on the 126,400 cars carried during the same time last year.
Freight carryings rose by 16.5% to 262,500 RoRo units from 225,400 units in 2023.
Meanwhile, revenues at ICG’s Container and Terminal Division came to €68.8m, a 1.1% decrease on the same time last year.
For the year to May 4, container freight volumes shipped were 104,400 teu, an increase of 6% on the previous year’s total of 98,500 teu.
Volumes handled at the terminals in Dublin and Belfast totalled 113,400 units, an increase of 10.1% year on year.
