The funding was announced today by Minister of State for Sport, Physical Education and the Gaeltacht, Thomas Byrne TD, as part of a record total overall allocation of €26m in equipment grants nationwide.

Louth clubs receiving the boost are:

East Meath Clubs

St Patrick’s Gaa Meath, Stamullen €40,000

East Meath total – €90,756

Local Fine Gael TD, Fergus O’Dowd says he thrilled to see so many clubs receive this much needed funding, which will assist the successful clubs purchase vital pieces of equipment to help the clubs grow and expand in communities across Louth and East Meath.

“The capital project applications under the Sports Capital Programme which I know many local clubs are anxiously awaiting news on, will be announced at a later stage once the necessary assessments of applications are completed,” commented Deputy O’Dowd.“I want to wish all of the clubs well and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the amazing volunteers involved, sporting volunteers are the backbone of clubs and communities across the country.”
