Jack O’Connor hit the nail on the head in his post-match interview when he alluded to the fact that it was hard to judge just how well Kerry played and just how bad Monaghan were on Saturday evening.

Despite Monaghan’s poor National league campaign, it was hard to imagine Monaghan coming down to Killarney after a five-week break, plenty of time to get their house in order, and be as rudderless as they were.
