Victory over Clare in Ennis puts Cork in a decent position to emerge from the group

While hardly the most impressive performance from a Cork team last weekend, Cork’s win over Clare in Ennis will still go down as a significant step forward for a side that really have been improving week-on-week since midway through the National football league.

This win us unlikely to remain long in the memory, but the ramifications for the players on Leeside (the two points secured) will remain for the rest of the season. Cork won this tie by two, but it should never have been that close.
