The Irish national has been extradited from New South Wales to Victoria after three masked men forced their way into the home where a teenage girl was alone at the time

The Irish national has been extradited from New South Wales (NSW) to Victoria after three masked men forced their way into the Melbourne home where a teenage girl was alone at the time.

According to one witness interviewed by 9News, she was “was completely terrified and started crying”.

“She was hiding under the bedsheets and they just ripped the bedsheets off, took her phone and pretty much told her to shut up and stand in the corner,” he said.

The men then fled with a large amount of cash and while the teen was reportedly uninjured the suspects, who have been on the run since March, made their getaway.

It is believed that they are part of an international criminal syndicate of “fly in fly out burglars”.

“They’re known to change their names when they return to the UK and seek travel documents in those names which are approved and they can then fly to various different jurisdictions under those names which are provided lawfully,” police said.

While police have one suspect in custody in Victoria they are stepping up their manhunt for 21-year-old Hughie Buckley.

According to police: “He’s known to stay at short stay accommodation and other motels and the like using bookings for a few days in his and other person’s names.”

It has been reported that NSW police attempted to arrest the Irish national last week but he allegedly rammed a police car near Newcastle before fleeing.

He has been described as 6 foot three with a thick Irish accent and detectives believe he could be in NSW or Queensland.

Last week New South Wales and Victorian police issued a public appeal for assistance in locating the wanted man last seen in the Cardiff town area, which is just north of Sydney.

Buckley is wanted by NSW police for an outstanding warrant over pursuit-related offences, the Newcastle Herald reports.

Mr Buckley is also wanted by Victoria Police in relation to an ‘aggravated home invasion.’

Mr Buckley is described as “being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm to 185cm tall with a slim build, brown hair and a distinctive Irish accent.”

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District have been conducting inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.

“Information is treated in strict confidence.

“The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages,” Australian police added.
