Wicklow Local Enterprise Office.

Local Enterprise Office Wicklow will run a one-day training course on preparing your business for customs, with a focus on export.

This compact one day programme is suitable for companies who are beginning their export and import journey. Companies who would also like to refresh their knowledge are welcome as the day will cover the essentials of export and import customs compliance.

Participants will learn how tariffs work and the need to correctly classify goods. The programme will also help participating companies to brainstorm the urgent tasks and applications needed to mitigate costly delays and penalties. Workshops will be tailored to meet the specific sectors of participating companies and the challenges they face.

Specific areas covered will include free trade agreements, the Union Customs Code; rules of origin, valuation and classification; tariffs, duty and VAT; deferred payments and returned goods relief and UK post-Brexit rules changes on goods of animal origin.

The course takes place at the Local Enterprise Office, Wicklow, from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday, June 8. It costs €30 and you can register via www.localenterprise.ie/Wicklow.
