Season two of the hit TV series is set to be filmed in Ireland, with new shooting locations not being revealed just yet.

However, the Irish Independent has previously suggested Wednesday might come to Ashford Castle, the Game of Thrones famous Dark Hedges, Belleek Castle in Mayo, or Slane Castle.

The first season was shot in Romania, in locations such as Cantacuzino Castle, which later drew tourists from across the world.

Netflix has also revealed new additions to the star-studded cast, who will join Wednesday’s main star – Jenna Ortega.

Recently announced cast members include Steve Buscemi of The Big Lebowski, Christoper Lloyd, known for playing Uncle Fester in the classic The Addams Family, Joanna Lumley of Fool Me Once, Thandiwe Newton of Westworld, and Frances O’Connor from The Missing.

Other appearances include Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

Meanwhile, a few well-known faces from season one have been upped to the series regulars: Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Richie Santiago.

This season, Jenna Ortega is set not only to reprise her leading role in the series but also to sit in the producer’s seat.

One of the world’s most famous directors Tim Burton, known for Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice, will return as the series director.

Wednesday showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar have said: “We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.”

Wednesday is the most popular English TV series on Netflix, amassing 252.10 million views of season one. The series has spent 20 weeks on the global top 10 and the top 10 in 93 countries.

Netflix has also launched its new TikTok account – Thing Tok – dedicated to all things Wednesday from the fan favourite Thing’s perspective.
