Patricia, of Candlehill in Oberstown, died when the car she was travelling in was involved in a collision near the grotto in Ratoath, opposite Corballis Shopping Centre, at roughly 1am.

Meath woman Patricia Reilly (68) from Tara, died in a crash in Ratoath in the early hours of June 10.

Patricia, of Candlehill in Oberstown, died when the car she was travelling in was involved in a collision near the grotto in Ratoath, opposite Corballis Shopping Centre, at roughly 1am.

She was the driver and sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Meath Chronicle reports.

Her body was removed to the morgue at Navan hospital for a post-mortem.

Patricia (Tish) was a member of the Costello family of Old Road, Dunsany, and was married to Skryne native, Bernard (Barney) Reilly.

Tish and Barney lived in London, England and raised their family there, only returning in recent years to live at Candlehill.

She was predeceased by her son, Wayne, in the UK, and is survived by Barney and their family, Keith, Trevor and Shelley; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Faye, brothers Eddie, England, and Paul, Dunsany; sisters, Mary Denning, Navan, Rita Reilly, Navan, and Geraldine in England; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was also predeceased by her parents, Bill and Betty Costello, Old Road, Dunsany, brother Lar, Dunsany, and sister, Caroline Tobin, Skryne.

A death notice on rip.ie states “Reposing from St. Joseph’s Chapel of Rest Old Johnstown, Navan (C15 C425) on Friday afternoon from 5pm to 7pm .

“Arriving to St. Colmcille’s Church, Skryne on Saturday for 11am Funeral Mass which can be viewed live on Joe Finnegan YouTube. Cremation will take place in Dardistown crematorium at 1:30pm.”

Mourners have flooded the site with messages of condolence:

“Deepest sympathy to Patricia’s family. I did know her but saw the aftermath of the accident and left some flowers. I am so sorry for your loss.”

“Condolences to her family, what a terrible tragedy. May she rest in peace.”

“I have absolutely no words. Tish, you will live within our broken hearts forever, rest in peace my dear friend.”

“So sorry for your loss Keith and family. Trish was a lady always, so welcoming when we lived in Hayes, may she fly high with the angels.”

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this accident to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 8010600.
