Ireland takes on Pakistan in their last league game in Florida on Sunday, June 16. The match starts from 8 pm IST which is 10.30 am local time.

Ireland have lost games against India and Canada. Their match against USA ended in a washout after rain played spoilsport in the second straight game in Florida. This is the last game for both teams and hence a must-win to stay alive in the race for the Super 8s. Ireland’s previous match against the USA ended in a washout.

The inclement weather in Florida has been a massive subject of debate. It has already washed out two back-to-back games and this is a crucial game for both sides. Ireland are winless in the tournament so far and their loss to Canada will come back to haunt them.

Ireland have found it tough to win a game yet in this tournament. Their skipper Paul Stirling has not been good with the bat so far. The likes of Andrew Balbirnie and Harry Tector too have not batted well. It needs to be a cumulative effort from this Irish side to bat Pakistan if the weather permits.

Ireland Playing 11 vs Pakistan – ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Match 36

Paul Stirling (C)

Stirling will open the batting for Ireland. The skipper has been well short of runs in this tournament so far and will need to step up in this big game.

Andrew Balbirnie

Balbirnie the former skipper will open the batting with Stirling. He scored 17 in the previous match against Canada. He too has been in very poor form.

Harry Tector

Tector will slot in at three. He is being seen as the next batting talent in Irish Cricket. However, he does not have scores to back his talent.

Lorcan Tucker (WK)

Tucker will slot in at three. He is a very good player of spin and a naturally attacking batter. He also plays around T20 leagues all around the world.

Curtis Campher

Campher the seam bowling all-rounder will slot in at five. He is not among the top run-scorers list of the wicket-takers list. He has a reputation of being a clean striker of the ball.

George Dockrell

Dockrell is the spin-bowling all-rounder who will slot in at six. He has been playing for Ireland for over a decade and is inching closer to 100 T20I wickets and 1500 T20I runs. He scored 30 in the match against Canada.

Gareth Delany

He is another batting all-rounder who bowls a bit of leg spin. He is five away from 50 T20I wickets. Thus Ireland is looking to make a nice mix of bowling combinations.

Mark Adair

Mark Adair is the leader of the bowling attack. He scored 34 off 24 balls in the match against Canada and picked up 1 wicket in the match. Adair has picked up 121 wickets.

Barry McCarthy

McCarthy will be the left-arm swing bowler. He has picked up 53 T20I wickets and has been expensive with his economy rates as well. None of the Irish bowlers are on the list of top wicket-takers.

Craig Young

Young is another right-arm pacer for Ireland. He bowled a good spell against Canada picking up two for 33. He has picked up 75 T20I wickets.

Josh Little

Little concludes the likely playing XI for Pakistan. He is the most known Ireland pacer in the side having played T20 leagues across the globe. He went wicketless in the last game.
