It has been some time coming – 142 days to be exact – but Vinny Corey and his Farney army never lost faith as they finally ended a disastrous losing run when it really mattered most.

As Corey puts it, their do-or-die group clash with Meath in Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday was their “first knockout championship game” so their best was saved for when the occasion demanded it as they secured their last-12 place.
