Too soon? Methinks that Mickey Harte would have wanted another week or two, ideally another game, before having to face Kerry in a do-or-die clash at Croke Park.

Derry got out of the frying pan last Saturday evening but by Monday morning they were facing the fire. The draw for the All-Ireland quarter-finals had paired them with the Kingdom and the clock started ticking immediately. The maestro was not left with much time to prepare his heist. He would have to make do and mend between then and now.
