Derry 0-6 Kerry 0-6

It’s fair to say that is maybe the cagiest opening half of football that we have watched in Croke Park in quite a while.

It really hasn’t been easy on the eye as both sides retreated into mass defences and are conservative in their approach to attack, nerves and fear of what the other team can do.

Shane McGuigan has produced the moments of magic for the men in red and white with four superb scores.

David Clifford has been relatively quiet and has been marshalled quite well by Chrissy McKaigue despite kicking two points.

Kerry have kicked five wides to Derry’s four.

All to play for in the second half with a last four date with Armagh at stake.
