Tori Towey’s plight was raised in the Dail yesterday just hours after the Sunday World highlighted the Roscommon’s woman’s nightmare.
Advocacy group Detained in Dubai went public with the case yesterday in a bid to get the Irish government to take action.
Speaking via the organisation Tori said: “I’m glad I’m with my mother now but I don’t know what’s going to happen in court next week. “
“I’m desperate to go home to Ireland and put all of this in the past. I’m asking the Taoiseach to please help us”.

Her mother Caroline flew out to from Roscommon to comfort her daughter who was left badly beaten in the latest terrifying attack.
She urged Irish politicians and diplomats “to please do everything to get my daughter home safely.”
“She’s been through the worst time of her life and needs to come home with me and heal”.
It is illegal for the women to speak to directly to the media in Ireland, according to the Detained in Dubai CEO Radha Stirling.
Yesterday, Taoiseach Simon Harris told the Dáil that he is ready to “intervene” in Ms Towey’s case.
He was responding after Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald told the Dail Ms Towey could not leave Dubai after she was attacked in her home and faced charges of attempted suicide and alcohol consumption.
Deputy McDonald told the Dáil that Ms Towey had been the victim of domestic violence and is subject to a travel ban over alleged charges as she urged the Taoiseach to intervene.
An aunt of Ms Towey told RTE’s Morning Ireland today has said the family are very nervous and “cannot wait” to get the 28-year-old home.
Ann Flynn, the sister of Ms Towey’s mother Caroline, said that “Tori can’t travel, so Caroline has to stay with Tori, so we’re just all very anxious.”
“I don’t know will this court case go ahead, or if it does what will happen? We’re just very hopeful.”
“It’s really terrible that this has happened to a young woman who was full of life and full of adventure, and loved travelling.”
“They’re both trying to keep positive, we’re trying to keep positive as well, but it’s on your mind constantly and I’m sure it’s on their minds … it’s so far away.”
Speaking on the same programme, Radha Stirling described the charges against her as “bizarre”.

Ms Towey and her mother are currently staying in an Airbnb but the police in Dubai have her passport.
“It wouldn’t matter if she did have her passport because it will have a travel ban and she wouldn’t be able to leave without it. So, if the police drop the case against her, she will be able to get her passport and leave the country.”
She said the two women have been “really, really warmed at the Irish community, at the Irish Government” and “everyone rallying behind them and 100% supporting them.”
“I think when it comes to a case like this, it’s all about diplomacy. Without the support of the Irish Government, she would be likely to face prison and charges and deportation.”
Ms Towey has lived in Dubai since last year after she got a job with Emirates Airlines.
