The most striking feature about the Galway and Donegal teams today is the age profile and vast experience in both counties’ ranks. It is the same for all teams at the business end of the championship.

A good age profile is having most of the players over 25, with five or six years of inter-county experience and at least 20 championship games under their belts. Add in league matches and the majority of players have over 50 games played for their counties.
