Wexford were sent packing from the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate ladies’ football championship at the semi-final stage for the second year running in Parnell Park, Donnycarney on Sunday, this time falling to Leitrim by the narrowest of margins.

The Slaneysiders were right in the mix until Aisling Halligan was sin-binned for the second game running, and the Connacht side scored two goals while Wexford’s best defender was off the field, leaving them deep in a hole.
