Excitement is building ahead of the much-loved Dress in Pink Day returning to the Friday of this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Carton House.

One of the most eagerly-anticipated stops on the Ladies European Tour calendar moves to a new home this summer on Carton House’s O’Meara Course from August 29 to September 1, with Friday August 30th holding a special place in the hearts of many set to attend.

On that flamingo Friday, players and spectators alike are encouraged to paint the town pink in aid of Breast Cancer Research. For the past two years at former host venue Dromoland Castle, the Play in Pink initiative has been extremely well-supported at the tournament and the Dress in Pink day was a huge success.

31,000 spectators made their way to Clare last year and with even more expected this summer at Carton House, the spotlight will shine even brighter on Play in Pink.

The popular charity raised more than €550,000 in 2023 as Play in Pink events took the island by storm in support of the work of the NBCRI research programme at The Lambe Institute, Galway.

Leona Maguire was one of many LET stars to proudly wear pink on day two and drive forward this most meaningful campaign that will see various fundraisers and donation opportunities spring up around Carton House during tournament week.

So, Friday is the day to make your pink presence count, and if you have teed up in a Play in Pink event around the country in 2023, you’ll be eligible to purchase a discounted entry ticket prior to August’s showpiece event.

Fresh off securing her maiden Ladies European Tour title and a first for Ireland at the Aramco London event in July, Maguire will once again prove the main draw as she goes in search of her National Open crown, with a whole host of other LET winners and rising Irish stars ensuring Carton House will be a spectacle to savour.

And if you’re worried that you’ve missed your chance to tee up in a Play in Pink Day and secure your discount, think again! There’s still time to play your part in pink and help in the fight against breast cancer.

You can sign up for one of the already organised Play in Pink days in this year’s schedule or you can sign your club up for a Play in Pink Day all of its own. By hosting a Play in Pink Day and running raffles, coffee mornings and auctions alongside the golf, you’ll be raising funds that will directly impact the precious research being conducted by the Lambe Institute. It’s this very research that’s already seeing results in patient outcomes through improved diagnosis and treatment options.

So why just play golf when you can Play in Pink?
