Béal Bán and Wine Strand/Trá an Fhíona is a very popular spot when the sun comes out in Ireland.

Every June, an impromptu horse-racing festival is held on the beach, with other events in the public houses of Ballyferriter.

Wine Strand is a small sandy beach, and the name is thought to come from 1588.

It’s said that several wine casks washed up here when the Spanish Armada was shipwrecked along the western coastline.

From the beach, guests are treated to a prime view of Mount Brandon.

Another beach on the same stretch is Cúl Dorcha which looks across to Béal Bán, with a view of Sybil Head, known for the Star Wars movies.

To the right the Three Sisters can be seen. It is located just 6.5km southwest of Ballydavid.

In the local vicinity there are a range of things to do.

First, you can visit the Reask Monastic Site, located just 1.3km away.

Admission is free and it takes around one hour to look at.

Then, you could take in the sights while doing Ballydavid Cliff Walk, located over 2km away,

This takes between six and eight hours, but offers gorgeous views.

And Dingle is just a 15 minute drive from the beaches, and offers many activities.

And if you’re lucky, you may even spot a humpback whale that has been seen off the coast.

Incredible footage showing humpback whales making a return to Irish waters for the summer after migrating south for the winter has emerged.

The incredible clip captured one the beautiful creatures in all its glory swimming through the Atlantic sea off the coast of Dingle, Co Kerry, yesterday afternoon.

The Dingle Sea Safari posted incredible footage along with photographs of the beautiful whales breaching out of the water.

The humpback whale is one of 26 species of cetacean recorded in Irish waters.

They are seen regularly from shore and during whale-watching trips off the south coast of Ireland, mainly in autumn and early winter.

The whales are usually found anywhere from Central America to Alaska, from the west coast of Africa to Iceland in the Arctic Ocean, and from Brazil and Argentina to the Antarctica.

Dingle Sea Safari took to social media to share the incredible footage captured by two captains, and said: “It’s very rare to see them and it’s amazing to have them back again this year!”

The lucky people on the award-winning Dingle Sea Safari tour got to see the humpback whales making a splash as they migrate from the south.
