Galway will face Kerry in the All-Ireland ladies Football final after their semi-final wins over Cork and Armagh.

First half goals proved crucial as Galway reached their first All-Ireland final since 2019 as they defeated Cork 2-7 to 0-10 in Saturday’s first semi-final.

Cork had a win over Galway already this season in the championship, but Galway have been a new side since that defeat.

On a high after their win over Dublin, Galway wasted no time to race into the lead, as a penalty from Róisin Leonard put them 1-2 to 0-3 ahead after 15 minutes.

Galway had their second goal just before half-time through Ailbhe Daveron as they took a 2-4 to 0-5 lead into the interval.

While Cork improved in the second half and created more chances, with the impressive Katie Quirke amassing a personal tally of 0-7, Galway once again put in a strong defensive performance.

Cork searched for a goal late on, but Galway’s defence held up to book their place in Croke Park in two weeks time.

They will meet Kerry in the final after their 1-8 to 0-7 win over Armagh to reach their third All-Ireland final in-a-row.

After a bright start from Armagh, Kerry scored the only goal of the game so far through Niamh Carmody in the first half as they took a 1-07 to 0-5 lead into the interval.

In a second half that was not as entertaining, Armagh were unable to find a way through the Kerry defence and get the goal they needed.
