The big Kerry news from the quarter-finals of the WillWeGo.com Irish Leger (winner, €30,000) at Limerick last Saturday is that Knockeen Dazzler, winner of the Kirby Sweepstake at the same venue earlier in the year, clocked the fastest winning time of 29.49 when beating the Pat Buckley-trained Coolavanny Otto by four and a half lengths in the fourth quarter-final.
Tralee’s 525 yards record-holder, Brendan Maunsell’s In Good Time, is also through to the semi-finals this Saturday after losing out by half a length in the third quarter-final to Hazelhill Bucko in 29.65, while also through is Padraig O Murchú’s Ventry Faith (trained by Owen McKenna), which finished third to Ballyhimikin Rex in the second semi-final, won in 29.55.
