Azets Ireland is planning to more than double the size of its corporate finance division over the next three years.

The company is aiming to add 20 more staff to the section to enable it to advise on a growing number of transactions expected in the market in the future.

The firm says the mergers and acquisitions market is growing faster in Ireland than it is in the rest of the world.

During the first three months of the year, private deals were almost a third higher than the comparable period last year, it said.

“Our team’s focus on delivering tailored M&A, due diligence, valuations, and debt advisory services is more crucial than ever,” said David Lucas, who recently took on the role of head of corporate finance at Azets Ireland.

“The expected reduction in interest rates is likely to boost deal activity in the short to medium-term while there is growing interest in Irish businesses from international as well as domestic trade and private equity buyers.”

Currently Azets employs around 260 people in offices in Dublin and the south east.
