Dingle, in southwest Ireland, is home to stunning views, beautiful countryside, and incredible coastal views.

To get to Dingle, you can fly to Kerry Airport with Dingle just one hour away by car. It is over four hours away from Dublin.

Driving around the area is the best way to take in all the sights Dingle has to offer.

The famous Slea Head Drive is one of the top things to do there and is also known as one of the best drives in the country.

Just outside Dingle, you’ll find the start of this drive, which is a 28 mile route through classic Irish countryside, idyllic towns, and historic sites.

There are plenty of places to stop to admire the view on the drive which takes around one to two hours.

Visiting Clogher Strand is another place you should add to your list if you plan to visit. The bay there is one of best for looking out into the sea.

From the shore, you might even catch sight of a dolphin – although this is rare, there have been sightings in the area.

Another great coastal spot to visit is Coumeenoole beach – this small private space has been used as a filming location for ‘Ryan’s Daughter’. It can be accessed via a winding path from above but always check the water is safe for swimming as currents can be strong in this area.

Back in land, the ancient church of Gallarus Oratory, which was built over 1000 years ago, is a great place to stop to understand the history of the area.

One visitor said: “The Gallarus Oratory is the oldest church in Ireland and it’s located in a beautiful serene setting. It’s very scenic and extremely quiet.

“I was awestruck and the majesty of this simple stone building. The visitor centre is very nice and the movie about the church is very well done. I highly recommend visiting.”
