A first for what has become an annual tradition in Ireland, a conference matchup that could set the tone for the season.
The Seminoles had an abysmal end to the 2023 season, despite large expectations heading into the campaign. This year, Florida State comes into the season with a ground game that is projected to be the team’s bread-and-butter this season, along with double-transfer DJ Uigalelei coming in to replace the outgoing Jordan Travis at quarterback. They have a lot of weapons that are expected to give the rest of the ACC fits this season.
Georgia Tech’s defensive line might not be able to match up against the Seminoles’ veteran o-line, but the rest of their defense might be able to keep them in the game. On the offensive side, their offensive line should be able to protect Haynes King and the rest of the backfield.
This is not the first time Georgia Tech has played in Ireland. They defeated conference rival Boston College in September 2016 in Dublin.
Florida State is 15-11-1 against Georgia Tech, with this being their first meeting since the ‘Noles beat the Yellow Jackets in 2022.
MY PICK: Florida State wins, 31-17
