Ireland — and Dublin in particular — attracts plenty of multinational corporations, thanks to its low corporate tax rate. With Google, Meta and other Silicon Valley tech giants setting up their European headquarters around the Grand Canal Dock, the docklands area has been nicknamed “Silicon Docks.” In the list below, we introduce you to some of the biggest IT companies in Dublin.

Datadog makes a SaaS platform that enables infrastructure monitoring and security to support high-performing cloud applications. The company’s technology has use cases across industries like financial services, logistics, healthcare, media, education and e-commerce. As part of its operations in Europe, Datadog maintains a Dublin hub.

 

Workhuman is an HR software platform that allows people managers to recognize employee accomplishments, provide regular feedback and gain data insights about its workforce. It also uses data to produce research about people management and workplace trends. The company, which was founded in 1999, is dual headquartered in Dublin and Framingham, Massachusetts. 

 

Arrow Electronics is an electronic component manufacturer. Its products are used in computers and IoT devices through a network of industrial electronics manufacturers that market goods for use in the aerospace and defense, energy storage, green infrastructure, medicine and healthcare, renewable energy and transportation sectors. Arrow maintains an Irish headquarters in Dublin.

 

Google is one of many Silicon Valley tech giants that has established their European headquarters on the Dublin docklands. The company behind the most popular search engine is also innovating in AI, cloud computing and more. The company, which employs more than 5,000 workers across its Dublin offices, said in 2022 that it would hire another 1,700 employees at a new office in the city center.

 

dbt Labs provides software tools and services to assist with data engineering and analytics with a goal to help businesses analyze and manage data effectively. Its main product, data build tool (dbt), is an open-source software that helps engineers and analysts collaborate on data transformation workflows. The company has a remote workforce and operates in Dublin 

 

Ergo says it is the largest privately owned IT services provider in Ireland, employing more than 500 IT professionals The Dublin-based firm can help clients with everything from cloud migration to modernizing legacy applications. It also offers a full suite of managed services. Ergo has been named Ireland Partner of the Year by Microsoft and VMware. It’s consistently included on Deloitte’s list of best managed companies.
