The incident took place on Coast Road in Baldoyle, Dublin 13, at around 1am on Wednesday, July 17

Michael ‘Mikey’ Farrelly (40) was walking home when he was struck by a stolen car in Baldoyle, Dublin in July.

Gardaí have arrested a man in his late teens over the fatal crash that killed a pedestrian in north Dublin back in July.

The incident took place on Coast Road in Baldoyle, Dublin 13, at around 1am on Wednesday, July 17.

The victim, 40-year-old pedestrian Michael ‘Mikey’ Farrelly, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood Mr Farrelly was walking to his home when he was struck by a stolen car.

Gardaí today announced that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the collision.

“The man (aged in his late teens) is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Dublin,” a spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
