NYX Hotel Dublin is delighted to announce Jo Lawless, a talented artist from Clondalkin, as the winner of its inaugural ‘Art Lives’ competition.

Jo’s captivating artwork has earned a permanent place in the NYX Hotel Dublin Portobello, joining a prestigious collection of works by renowned Irish artists such as Shane Sutton, Niall Staines, Shane O’Driscoll, Art Loves, and Janine Jordon.

Inspired by the vibrant energy of Dublin’s streets, creating high-end design with a Dublin edge, NYX Hotel Dublin with locations at Portobello and Christchurch is where style meets local spirit and where bespoke art provides the backdrop to each stay.

The ‘Art Lives’ competition saw emerging artists from across the country submit their original artwork for consideration. A finalist shortlist was curated by renowned interior designer Suzanne Garuda of Garuda Design, who crafted the vibrant interiors of NYX Hotel Dublin. As part of her win, Jo has been awarded a €1,000 cash prize and a complimentary one-night stay at NYX Hotel Dublin Portobello to experience first-hand the impact of her art on the hotel’s character.

Reflecting on her win, Jo Lawless said, “It’s an incredible honour to have my work featured alongside such esteemed artists in a space as vibrant and dynamic as NYX Hotel Dublin. I’m thrilled that my art will be part of this inspiring environment, and I can’t wait to see it on display.”

Commenting on the announcement, General Manager of NYX Hotel Dublin Portobello, Agne Dimaityte, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Jo’s piece into our collection. Her work stood out for its originality which perfectly aligned with the spirit of NYX Hotel Dublin. We’re excited to showcase her talent to our guests and to support the incredible artistic community here in Dublin.”
