Decathlon Ireland announced today a new service being offered to customers in the Ballymun, Limerick and O’Connell Street stores.

‘Buyback’ is a new scheme which will see Decathlon Ireland buy back customers’ sports equipment (starting with Bikes & Fitness) and then selling them on in stores as a second life item. The customers’ will receive payment in the form of a digital Decathlon voucher/gift card.

What type of products will Decathlon Buyback?

The scheme will start with bikes of all brands (except electric bikes, which are Decathlon only) as well as fitness products e.g. treadmills, bench press etc. Other sports will then be added down the line!

The circular economy is at the heart of Decathlon United’s North Star Project. The aim is to offer sustainable solutions to customers, enabling them to practice their sport differently and more responsibly.
