Actor-comedian Vir Das is currently on his stand-up tour in Europe. He was scheduled to perform in Dublin on October 7 but the show has now been postponed. In an Instagram post, Vir announced that he would push back his Dublin show to December 4.

Sharing the ‘bad news’, Vir wrote that the Swedish embassy “in their infinite wisdom” gave me a single entry visa “even though we sent them the whole tour schedule”. We tried to sort it, but I’m already on the move and can’t, he added. “So, I can’t leave Schengen for Dublin and make it back in. So, we’re pushing Dublin to Dec 4. Sorry,” read the statement.

Vir added that the ticket buyers have a choice to get a refund if they aren’t able to attend the postponed show but if they come they will get an “extra ten minutes of jokes”. He added, “Hope to see you on Dec 4 and if you can’t make it you’ll get a refund. If you’re coming we can have a business and I’ll do an extra ten minutes of jokes about Europe and Sweden. I’ve been in Stockholm 24 hours and let me assure you, outside of a particular devotion to cheese, nothing special compared to you.”

Vir Das previously shared his ‘double-entry Schengen visa’ issue on X (formerly Twitter). The actor-comedian said that he applied for a double-entry Schengen visa but the Swedish Embassy gave him a single-entry visa, meaning he couldn’t leave the Schengen zone for Ireland. He also shared that the Schengen visa of his tour assistant was also rejected by the Embassy as they believed that he would not return to India.

In a post, Vir wrote, “Applied for a double entry Schengen. The Swedish embassy in their infinite wisdom give me a single entry and reject my tour assistant saying they don’t believe he’s going to return to India. Now, I have to push a Dublin show because I can’t leave Schengen. What a week!”

The Mind Fool Tour is the largest global tour by an Indian comic. During this tour, Vir Das will perform in 33 countries across the world.
