A woman has been hospitalised following a road traffic collision on the Davitt Road in Inchicore, Dublin 8 on Wednesday evening.

The collision, involving a car and a female pedestrian, occurred shortly after 8pm.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident and the pedestrian was taken to St James’ Hospital for treatment.

Davitt Road remains closed this morning with congestion on Naas Road inbound through Tyrconnell Road and Inchicore which may see drivers face delays on their commute.

Drivers are advised to use an alternative route if possible.

Traffic is also heavy this morning on the roads leading to Dublin Airport following a road traffic collision.

Gardaí and the team at Dublin Airport are on the scene and traffic management is being provided.

At 8am, there was reports of a collision on the R126 Hearse Rd coming out of Donabate blocking traffic in both directions. Drivers have been told to take Turvey Road as an alternative.

Meanwhile, due to an operational issue this morning on the DART network, some services are operating with delays and alterations.
