PUNTERS have been left seriously divided after spotting the capital’s first Christmas decorations for 2024.
The famous Temple Bar in Dublin city centre already has its Christmas lights and trees up before Halloween.

TikTok user augus.tom took to social media to alert their followers.
In the video, the red brick pub is blocked off and surrounded by decorators from a floral display company.
A giant tree has been set up on the side of the landmark building, as well as twinkling Christmas lights, while Mariah Carey‘s hit seasonal song “All I want for Christmas” plays in the background of the video.
People took to the comment section to weigh in on whether or not it is too early for Christmas decorations.
One user said: “Why are they so obsessed with ruining everything????
“Can we not let Halloween pass first and then start celebrating Christmas in December like we’re supposed to???”
Another commented: “What is gone wrong in the world at all wishing their lives away it’s not Halloween yet and they’re putting up Christmas trees.”
Somebody else put in: “I’m the biggest fan of Xmas, always was, but come on, even the last week of Nov and we have a good run at it then and enjoy doing it. This is crazy.”
But not everyone agreed – some Christmas fans said there was no problem decorating at this time of the year in preparation for the big day.
One person said: “If John Lewis can have their Christmas up why not Dublin, ha.”
Another person commented: “So we can start Christmas early.”
A third said: “Yippee merry Christmas in advance Christian Catholic Ireland.”
And another user admitted to putting their tree up in August, saying: “I can’t say anything I put up my tree 8th August hehe.”
Meanwhile, Dunnes Stores shoppers are rushing to buy a festive treat after its prices were slashed months before the big day.
The popular advent calendars have become a staple to Irish children’s December mornings.
And the countdown to the biggest treat on December 25th is no doubt the highlight.
Dunnes want to save parents pockets as they reduce the prices across their selection of advent calendars.
The classic Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calendar was originally €5 and has had its price dropped 10 per cent, bringing it down to €4.50.
And the MilkyBar White Chocolate Advent Calendar has been cut from €5 down to €1.50.
The savings don’t stop here though, even the Lindt Lindor Gold Assorted Advent Calendar, which was originally €16.50, has been slashed.
This advent calendar will now only set shoppers back €14.
These big sale prices began on Monday, 7th October, so shoppers will need to make their way to stores soon while stocks last.
