With the pedal to the floor, Dublin Bus is driving ahead with an intense recruitment drive to secure more female drivers for the busy transport company.
And there are lucrative compensation and benefits being offered – starting salaries are €839.76 per week, rising to €972.31 pw after six years, with a five-day work week that includes shift and Sunday premiums.

Following on from the success of its Spring-Summer campaign, Dublin Bus increased the number of female drivers by 24 percent, so it’s full throttle now for the company as it seeks to build on that. Research also reveals that one in four women in Ireland would consider becoming a Dublin Bus driver if given the opportunity – so that’s the basis driving this recruitment campaign.
There will be three Open Days hosted by Dublin Bus over the coming weeks:
Saturday, October 26, Saturday, November 9 and Saturday, November 23.
These open days are designed to give women firsthand experience of what it’s like to work at Dublin Bus. Attendees will meet with DB female drivers and inspectors, who will share their personal stories and insights about life on the road. Participants will have the chance to drive a training bus under the guidance of a qualified instructor, get a tour of the Dublin Bus Central Control Centre, and learn about the recruitment process, benefits and job commitments.

NB Applicants must be over 18 years of age prior to the opening days and hold a valid category B (car) licence for at least two years.
