Dublin’s Number 1 Entertainment guide is full of events from around the county.
There is something for all ages, including Halloween festivities at The Civic Theatre in Tallaght and the Dublin Ghost Bus. For musical theatre lovers, there are several upcoming shows: HXT Musical Society’s “BIG FISH” and KIMS Musical Society’s “Rock of Ages.” To top it all off, Ireland’s top comedian has announced new dates for his upcoming show at the Helix Theatre.
Tommy Tiernan brings new show ‘Tommedian’ to the Helix
Funny man Tommy Tiernan is set to take to the stage at The Helix with his new comedy show ‘Tommedian’ from January 23-31 at 8 pm.
‘Tommedian’ is a fun-fuelled trip through the comic imagination of one of the best comedians in the world.
This is a wild, uninhibited, and fiercely physical display of stand-up. A madcap parade of characters, memories, and ridiculous flights of fancy. Theatrical, poetical and slightly unhinged.
Upon arrival at the venue, all phones, smart watches, and accessories will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their phones at all times and can access their phones throughout the event at designated Phone Use Areas in the venue. All phones will be re-secured in Yondr pouches before returning to the event space.

The Civic Spooktacular presents Hansel, Gretel and The Witch
The Civic Halloween Spooktacular Panto returns to the Civic Theatre in Tallaght from October 25 – 31.
Following a sell-out week last year, The Civic Halloween Spooktacular Panto returns this spooky season. This year the classic fairy tale Hansel and Gretel is given a spooky twist present ‘Hansel, Gretel & The Witch’.
Lost in the eerie forest, they encounter a cunning witch who lures them into her candy-coated lair. The siblings must use their wits and bravery to outsmart the witch and escape her wicked clutches, with the help of Wiggles and a magical diary.
Don’t miss this enchanting and magical adventure filled with music, laughter, and bewitching performances that will leave you enchanted and captivated.

HXT Musical Society presents BIG FISH at the Civic Theatre
Following on from their 2023 deviously delicious production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, Harold Cross Tallaght Musical Society (HXT), are excited to take to the stage with their production of the 1998 Daniel Wallace novel of mystical proportions, and 2003 Tim Burton directed motion picture, ‘Big Fish’, this November in The Civic, Tallaght from November 5-9.
Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, ‘Big Fish’ tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him—most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. Their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales.
With a musical score by Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family), and book by John August, ‘Big Fish’ is overflowing with heart and humour. An extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre — for an imaginative experience that’s richer, funnier and bigger
than life itself. Led by their talented and committed production team of Director, Niamh McGowen, Musical Director, Dermot O’Callaghan, and Choreographer, Erica Delaney, the cast are enthusiastically awaiting an audience and invite you to join them in Alabama between the 5th and 9th of November.

Pavilions Theatre in Dun Laoghaire is set to screen the showstopping musical Phantom of the Opera on November 5 at 7.30 pm.

Beethoven with the National Symphony Orchestra at the NCH
The National Concert Hall invites younger audiences to experience one of the most iconic pieces of orchestra music ever composed in its relaxed family concert, Symphony Shorts – Beethoven on Saturday 19 October at 12.30pm.
Designed and presented by the National Concert Hall’s first Learning & Participation Artist-in-Residence, Jessie Grimes, Symphony Shorts – Beethoven will see the full forces of the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jonathon Heyward, one of the most exciting conductors on the international scene, perform highlights from this hugely popular work. Perfect for ages 5 and up, including those with ASD, this relaxed hour-long event promises musical delights for all.

As National Concert Hall Artist-in-Residence, Jessie Grimes will present a series of family and education concerts. In addition to two Symphony Shorts concerts, her work ranges from schools concerts for children aged 8 -12 and for Junior and Leaving Certificate Music students to a concert featuring two of the greatest pieces of music for children, namely Peter and the Wolf and The Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra, The latter promises to be an immersive experience for all ages, blending storytelling, puppetry and orchestral brilliance into a magical fusion of sight and sound.
