A man has been arrested following a suspected hit-and-run incident in Dublin.
At approximately 1.45pm on Sunday afternoon, a van struck a pedestrian on Cloverhill Road in Clondalkin, Dublin 22. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries in the incident. He is now undergoing treatment in hospital.
On Monday, investigating gardaí confirmed that a man in his 20s had been arrested on Sunday night in connection with the incident.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in South Dublin.
A garda spokesperson said investigations ongoing.
