Train line closure is due to “engineering works” by Irish Rail
The Shared Island Fund gives €12.5m to improvements to the Dublin to Belfast train service in order to make it hourly at peak times
Bus substitutions are being organised for passengers travelling from Belfast to Dublin over the weekend due to “engineering works” by Irish Rail causing a line closure between Dundalk and Dublin Connolly station.
The closure will be from Saturday, October 26 until Monday, October 29.
Enterprise passengers will travel by train from Belfast Grand Central Station to Dundalk station, where bus substitutions will complete the remainder of the journey.
Travelling northbound, bus substitutions will operate from Dublin Connolly to Drogheda, and Dundalk from where they can continue their journey by train.
Translink also reminded passengers that the new Enterprise timetable, with hourly services, will commence on Tuesday, October 29.
Fifteen services will operate in both directions between Belfast and Dublin, Monday to Saturday and 14 on Sundays, offering “more choice, flexibility and convenience for passengers”.
