Leonard’s Corner, on the junction of South Circular Road and Clanbrassil Street, thanked staff and customers as it has shut down.
Owners Gerry and Phil left a message on their social media to express their gratitude to those who spent time in the pub over the years.
“After almost 25 years, the time has come for me to pass the reins of my pride and joy to other hands,” they said.
“We have had the best journey and enjoyed every minute of time with you all.
“To all our loyal customers, you made Leonard’s Corner a very special place and we want to thank each and every one of you, as without you, it wouldn’t have been the same.
“We have to say a massive thank you to our wonderful staff. It has been a huge pleasure to work with you and we wish you all the very best for the future.
“We have developed a great relationship, and we are very grateful for all you have done.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision to move on, but we feel it is the right time. It is now our turn to have our adventures.
“We will always think fondly of our time in Leonard’s Corner with all our wonderful staff and customers.
“We wish everyone well and again, a big thank you to you all. it is not goodbye, but see you later.”
One customer said: “Thanks for all the great nights and great toasties Gerry. Best pub ever. Raging I couldn’t get in for a final pint before the doors closed. Best of luck to you and enjoy everything that is to come.”
Another added: “Will never be the same without you Gerry. What a pub, all the great memories I’ve had with friends and family.”
A third posted: “Leonard’s Corner was home away from home. Hard work and dedication to your craft deserves a great retirement.”
