The October bank holiday weekend takes place between Friday 25th and Monday 28th October 2024. Below you’ll find a round-up of travel arrangements for Dublin public transport over the weekend.
Dublin Bus
Dublin Bus will operate normal services on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October. On Monday 28th October, a Sunday timetable will be in effect on all Dublin Bus services.
The Dublin City Marathon takes place on Sunday 27th October, so passengers can expect slightly longer journey times on certain routes due to diversions to accommodate the race.
There will be a full Nitelink service on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th October.
The clocks go back by 1 hour at 1 am on Sunday morning. However, passengers travelling on Nitelink services on Saturday night / Sunday morning are advised that Dublin Bus Nitelinks will depart as if the clocks have not changed.
Trains
Due to scheduled engineering works, there will be no train services between Dublin Connolly and Dundalk stations on Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th and Monday 8th October. On these days, DART trains will only operate between Dublin Connolly and Bray / Greystones.
As a result of the works, the following DART stations will be closed on Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th and Monday 28th October:
Luas
Luas trams will run as normal on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th October. and Sunday 30th October.
On Sunday 27th October, there will be a temporary partial closure of the Luas Red Line. From approximately 8:45 AM to 10:45 AM, no trams will operate between Heuston and Connolly/The Point to accommodate the Dublin City Marathon. During this period, Red Line services will only run between Tallaght/Saggart and Heuston.
On Monday 28th October, a Sunday timetable will be in place.
