The Ohio High School Athletic Association released the official weekly football computer ratings Tuesday. The computer ratings are released every week beginning in the fifth week of the season, leading up to the final report on Sunday, Oct. 27, when 448 schools – the top 16 in each region – will qualify for the playoffs. This week’s complete report showing all teams in every region is here.

The top eight teams will have home games in the first round of the playoffs, and the top four are guaranteed a second-round home game if they advance.

Here are the standings for Southwest Ohio regions, including a brief synopsis of playoff scenarios based on the research of Joe Eitel, who calculates the OHSAA computer ratings.

Division I

What to watch: Eitel says Lebanon has clinched a home game in the first round. Springboro and Middletown do not control their destiny for a home game even with a win. Springboro can drop to nine, win or lose but can finish as high as fifth. Middletown can finish as high as seventh with a win but could still finish as high as eighth with a loss.

What to watch: Moeller has clinched the No. 1 seed. Lakota West, Princeton, Winton Woods and Hamilton have clinched home games in the first round and can finish as high as second with a win. St. X and Elder will clinch home games with a win but could drop out of the top eight with a loss. West Clermont and Lakota East could drop out of the top eight with a win, or still finish in the top eight with a loss.

Mason, Milford and Oak Hills have clinched playoff spots. The final four spots are up for grabs.

Division II

What to watch: Anderson has clinched the No. 1 seed. La Salle, Harrison, Mt. Healthy and Badin can all climb to No. 2 with a win if Xenia loses. Only Anderson, La Salle, Harrison and Kings have clinched home games in the first round. Withrow has clinched a playoff spot. Aiken and Loveland clinch spots with a win. Monroe and Edgewood improve their chances of getting a spot with a win but do not control their destiny and can still get in with a loss. Turpin and Northwest need a win and help.

Division III

What to watch: McNicholas has clinched a first-round home game and with a win, improves its chances of staying in the top four. Batavia clinched a first-round game with a win and can finish in the top four, but can still stay in the top eight with a loss. Wilmington and Ross clinch playoff spots with a win but can be left out with a loss. Talawanda, Western Brown and Hughes need to win to improve their chances of a playoff spot but can get in win or lose. Goshen needs a win and help to get in.

Division IV

What to watch: All the playoff spots are decided. Wyoming and Clinton-Massie have clinched spots in the top three for two home playoff games and either one can win the top seed. Taft, CHCA and Indian Hill can finish in the top four with a win but could fall out of the top eight with a loss. Taylor, New Richmond and Shroder improve their chances of a home playoff game with a win.

Division V

What to watch: Waynesville can get the top seed and has clinched no worse than the three seed, guaranteeing two home games. Williamsburg likely gets a first-round home game with a win but can still get one with a loss. A win gives the Wildcats an outside chance at the top four. Madeira clinches a spot with a win but is still in good shape with a loss. Madison does not control its destiny but is in good shape. North College Hill, Finneytown and Clermont Northeastern need a win and help to get a spot. Eitel says Clark Montessori cannot get in even with a win.

Division VI

What to watch: CCD clinches the two seed with a win and can drop as low as six with a loss. St. Bernard has clinched one home game and can climb into the top four for two home games. Eitel says Deer Park clinches a spot with a win but is likely in with a loss. MVCA and Purcell are likely in win or lose. Blanchester needs a win to improve its chances but can get in with a loss. Summit Country Day needs a win and help.  

Division VII
