Colin Farrell has completed the Dublin City Marathon in an impressive time having pushed his close pal Emma Fogarty to the finish line as a poignant symbol of the four decades of her life.

The pair completed the grueling course together in hopes of raising money to help those with the chronic condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), that Emma suffers from.

The 48-year-old actor wheeled Emma along the final 4km of the 42km run, with each kilometer symbolising a decade of the activist’s life, as she gears up to turn 40 this year.

Colin completed the Dublin marathon in an above-average time of 4:06:45 – four hours, six minutes, and 45 seconds – and finished in 9,242th place out of 17,955 participants.

The Hollywood actor was cheered on by the crowds surrounding him, including Emma, as they neared the finish line. The Laois woman appeared to be overcome with emotion as the pair leaned in for a chat, having completed the marathon.

The pair have been campaigning to raise money for Debra Ireland in the lead-up to the event. This is a charity that supports those with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) which is otherwise known as butterfly skin, which is what Emma suffers from.

The firm friends, who first met back in 2010, recently told Patrick Kielty that they hope to raise €1 million for the charity, during their appearance on The Late Late Show. They have already raised an impressive €670,000 over the past few weeks.
