DUBLIN Airport is set to say goodbye to a firm favourite in Terminal 1 after the store announced it will be closing its doors for good this week.
Terminal 1’s Boots store will shut down on October 31 leaving visitors disappointed.
The popular pharmacy’s closure announcement comes due to ongoing reconfiguration works in the retail area.
The works could no longer accommodate Boots in its current space.
Airport officials revealed they’d been in talks with Boots since March, but “an agreement could not be reached that would have kept both parties happy.”
As part of the upcoming changes, the unit currently occupied by Boots will be reduced to make way for a new corridor in Terminal 1.

This will leave travellers without a pharmacy option on that side of the airport.
A Dublin Airport spokesperson said, “We can confirm that Boots’ contract to operate their store in Terminal 1 will expire on October 31.”
They added that the store in Terminal 2 will continue to trade as usual.
The spokesperson hinted at new additions coming soon to the Terminal 1 retail area.
They said: “We look forward to announcing details of exciting new changes and additions to the T1 retail offering very soon, and we’re confident that passengers will like what comes next.
“The Boots store in T2 at Dublin Airport is unaffected by this change and will remain open.”
“We’ll shortly start works on a reconfiguration of some of the shops in the T1 airside area and this will see the unit currently occupied by Boots being made smaller to accommodate a new corridor.
“We have been engaged with Boots since March about the possibility of keeping the store open beyond the end of its current contract.”
However no agreements were made, and the store will close on Friday, October 31.
For now, travellers needing last-minute essentials will need to head over to Terminal 2, where the Boots store remains open.
Meanwhile, a major security rule reminder has been issued to all passengers planning to travel over the “busy” Halloween period.
This weekend is the Halloween bank holiday, meaning that many people have opted to take advantage of the time off to enjoy a short getaway.
And those who are planning to pass through Dublin Airport on their travels have been reminded of the liquid allowance at airport security.
Dublin Airport took to X, formerly Twitter, to share the message with followers.
They said: “Flying out of Dublin Airport soon?
“A reminder that all liquids being taken through security screening in hand luggage must be 100ml or under.
“Prepare in advance to help ensure a hassle-free journey through security screening.”
The organisation also shared a helpful graphic that breaks down the rules of bringing liquids through security.
In Terminal One, they reminded passengers that all liquids, gels, and aerosols in hand luggage must be under 100mls.
And the liquids must fit inside a clear one litre bag.
Dublin Airport also reminded travellers that only one litre bag is permitted per person, and that passengers should be prepared to take electronics out of their carry on.
