Aslan

Rock group Aslan will headline a show in the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin next year.

The group, who formed in Finglas in 1982, lost their lead singer Christy Dignam following his death at the age of 63 in June of last year.

“We are so excited to announce, we will be playing the 3Olympia on March 16. This will be such a special gig for us,” they wrote.

“We played our first Aslan gig, with Lee on vocals, at the end of March 2024. What a welcome you have given us,” the band said of new vocalist Lee Tomkins.

“To see you all back in a live setting is such a joy for us, we will never take for granted the support you all have given us through the good and hard times.”

Aslan played Electric Picnic for the first time ever at the Salty Dog stage this summer, which they described as “one of the highlights so far”.

“Then to head off to Australia for a sold out tour was another, only to have to come back earlier than planned as we were guests of Coldplay for two amazing gigs in Croke park to 82,000 people a night, yes that was most definitely another one of our highlights,” they said.

The band have also performed a number of shows in the UK.

“At the moment, we are in the studio working on new material and we have our Christmas and New Year’s Eve gigs,” the group, who have six studio albums, said.

Tickets for their 3Olympia Theatre show are starting from €37.65, including booking fee and go on sale this Friday.
