Nick Cave has become the latest celebrity to drop into The Hacienda Bar in Dublin.
The ‘speakeasy’ on Mary Street welcomed the Australian musician, writer and actor in for a nightcap after his 3Arena concert last night.
The bar, with its unassuming entrance, has a reputation for welcoming some of the biggest A-list celebrities, from Taylor Swift, Niall Horan, Ed Sheeran and Olivia Rodrigo.
Shay Duignan, the owner of the Hacienda Bar, shared a picture on Facebook with the caption: “Great to welcome Nick Cave to the Hacienda last night.”
One fan said: “Fair play to him hitting the town after the gig, some energy expended on stage. Hope he enjoyed his visit.”
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds are playing two dates at 3Arena. They played on Tuesday, November 12, and will take to the stage again tonight where they are playing new material along with songs from their extensive catalogue.
Before heading on this tour, Cave said: “I never think about how a record is going to go live, it never, ever occurs to me.
“The lyric writing process is way too hard to take ideas like that into consideration.
“But, when I listen to ‘Wild God’ now, I think we can really do something epic with these songs live. We’re really excited about that – the record just feels like it was made for the stage.”
Cave was in Ireland late last year for the funeral of his friend Shane MacGowan, where he played an emotional version of The Pogues’ song, Rainy Night in Soho.
