The seven-time All-Ireland winner made his debut for the Sky Blues in 2015, starting a national league game against Monaghan.

He went on to become a two-time Footballer of the Year, and was one of the standout players in this year’s championship.

The Raheny man was recently nominated for another All Star award following his consistently high-level performances for Farrell’s side.

Fenton has been a cornerstone of Dublin’s dominance, helping the team to seven All-Ireland titles.

The Dublin legend has earned a reputation as a key figure in what many consider the greatest Gaelic football team of all time.

News of Fenton’s retirement will come as a further blown to Dessie Farrell and his management team.

Skipper James McCarthy confirmed his retirement just two weeks ago.

And there are rumours surrounding the future of other key players ahead of the 2025 season.

The six-time All Star winner’s career included a six-year unbeaten championship run from 2015 until 2021.

Fenton leaves with a stunning record as he never lost a Leinster Senior Football Championship match.
