The Land Development Agency has published draft plans for a new affordable and social housing development at Kinsealy in north county Dublin.

The proposed scheme will deliver 193 two and three-bedroom homes on the site of the former Teagasc Research Centre.

The land is being transferred by the state’s agriculture and food development authority to the LDA.

The LDA is expecting to submit a planning application in early 2025 and subject to approval, construction on site could begin in 2026 with first homes being delivered in 2028.

The proposed new development is located between Clarehall and Malahide and will include a mix of houses, duplexes and apartments as well as a creche, landscaped open spaces and new pedestrian and cycle greenway links.

The homes will be made available for sale through the Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme or as social homes.

Phelim O’Neill, Head of Property at the Land Development Agency, said that as the State’s affordable housing delivery body, it is acutely aware of the housing need in North County Dublin and will work with the local community to ensure that we deliver a well-connected, sustainable and inclusive development.
