DUBLIN Airport has issued a major warning to passengers amid Storm Bert as flights to one European capital are impacted.
Storm Bert saw disruption across the country this weekend with red, orange and yellow weather warnings in effect.
While flights out of Dublin Airport were only impacted by some smaller delays on Saturday, they have shared a new update today.
As Storm Bert makes its way to the UK, some airports in London are feeling the toll of the bad weather.
Dublin Airport said: “It’s another windy day at Dublin Airport, but flights are taking off & landing as normal.
“Poor weather is impacting on some airports in the UK – notably in the London area – which may impact on schedules.
“As always, passengers should contact their airline directly for updates regarding their flight.”
The British Airways flight BA835 from Dublin to Heathrow at 1.35pm today has been cancelled.
Two further cancellations have seen British Airways flight BA837 and Aer Lingus flight EI174, both to Heathrow, also cancelled later today.
OTHER IRISH AIRPORTS
Cork Airport is also operating as normal despite extreme flooding throughout the county.
They said: “Storm Bert has brought very wet and windy conditions but @CorkAirport is operating normally.
“As always, passengers due to travel this weekend should contact their airline directly for updates regarding specific flights and allow extra time for journeys in disruptive weather.”
Shannon Airport also appears to be operating as normal, with no updates shared.
Belfast International Airport has advised that passengers take extra time to travel today when getting to their flight.
They said: “Please take extra time if you are travelling to the airport today due to adverse weather.
“If you are due to travel today please check with your airline for latest flight updates.”
Storm Bert has left a trail of chaos and destruction in it’s path since arriving on Friday night.
Parts of the country have seen extreme flooding, landslides and power cuts as a result of the storm.
A yellow wind warning is currently in place across the west coast, with Donegal under the alert for 24 hours, starting at 8am today until 8am tomorrow.
The warnings will remain in place for Kerry, Clare and Galway until 7pm, for Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim until 2am and in Donegal until 8am tomorrow.
