CAB seizes 23 vehicles, cash and drugs in Dublin raids

The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) has seized 23 cars, vans and trucks, as well as drugs, electronic equipment and over €400,000 in cash from a west Dublin organised crime gang.

Over 130 gardaí from national, specialist and local units searched 14 premises in the city today.

Gardaí say the gang that was the target of the operation is trafficking drugs in west Dublin and has links to Albanian organised crime.

CAB has described it as “a significant development” in an ongoing proceeds of crime investigation.

The cars which include Range Rovers, Isuzu trucks and BMWs were removed by articulated trucks this afternoon.

Cannabis, laptops, mobile phones and related documentation were also seized and a number of bank accounts linked to the organised crime group have been frozen.

CAB officers were supported by gardaí from west Dublin, the Emergency Response Unit, the Armed Support Unit, the Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit and the Customs Dog Unit.
