Officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) have seized 23 luxury vehicles and seized €400,000 in cash raids across Dublin on Wednesday.
As part of on ongoing operation targeting an Eastern European organised crime group operating in the capital, 130 personnel carried out searches at 14 different locations in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
The searches involved CAB officers, gardaí from DMR West, the Emergency Response Unit, the Armed Support Unit, the Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit and the Customs Dog Unit.
23 vehicles – among them BMWs, Range Rovers, and Mercedes jeeps – were seized during the raids, along with €400,000 in cash and frozen funds, a quantity of suspected cannabis herb. CAB officers also seized some electronic devices and assorted documentation.
A garda spokesperson said the raids marked “a significant development in CAB’s ongoing proceeds of crime investigation.”
